Leak Detective 11th franchise territory
Leak Detective has reached an exciting new milestone with the launch of its 11th UK franchise, this time in Kent.
The latest addition to the growing network is Em and Hemina Haque.
Since founding the business in Scotland in 2017, Leak Detective has steadily built its reputation in the specialist field of non-invasive leak detection. After years of hands-on service and refining their systems, the team began franchising in 2023, (with the help of Ashtons Franchise consultant Charlie Dickson)- and the response has been strong.
Steady growth
Rather than racing to scale, the team behind Leak Detective took a considered approach. Their aim was to build something sustainable, with a clear focus on quality and support. That strategy has paid off: just 2 years into its franchise journey, the business now operates in 11 territories, including launches in Milton Keynes, Oxford, Birmingham, Humberside, and Devon & Cornwall.
The newest franchise, Leak Detective Kent, is in experienced hands. Em Haque has spent more than 20 years in the franchise world, having built and managed multiple businesses over his career. Leak Detective stood out immediately to him.
It wasn’t just the technical side that appealed to him – it was the business model and the values behind it. With a clear focus on service, professionalism, and doing things properly, the franchise felt like a natural next step. Em will be joined by his wife, Hemina, who will be covering the administration and operations.
What sets Leak Detective apart is its specialist focus. It’s not a general plumbing business; the work is all about locating hidden water leaks using advanced tools and techniques that avoid damage to walls or floors. The service is in high demand, particularly from homeowners, landlords, insurers, and property managers who need fast, reliable answers when leaks cause issues.
Franchisee training
The team at head office puts every franchisee through in-depth training and provides all the tools and support they need to succeed. But more than that, Leak Detective is looking for people who are naturally curious, persistent, and customer-focused people. Moreover, people who genuinely want to do a good job and take pride in their work.
With the Kent launch now complete, Leak Detective continues to grow at pace, but with its feet firmly on the ground. The team’s ambition is to keep building a strong national network here in the UK. In time they may expand into Europe too.
For now, the focus is on supporting Em and Hemina as they get started in Kent. And on welcoming even more franchisees who are ready to bring something different to their local communities.
